Take a Seat, Watch a Full Round, Then Choose
Published
A guest who booked through this site came to us last month at the end of a work trip, his first evening at Manhao Spa. What he wrote to us the next day was not about the room. It was about the twenty-odd minutes he spent sitting in the showcase hall, watching a full round without saying anything at all.
He had not expected to be seated. The lights came up, the glass-railed catwalk opened out level above level, and there was nothing in his hands to do.
The largest showcase hall in Macau
The showcase hall is Manhao’s calling card: a multi-level catwalk with glass balustrades under full stage lighting, the largest of its kind in Macau, and one of the rooms in this city people travel for on the strength of the show alone.
Manhao Spa opened on 1 May 2026 inside the Grandview Hotel in Taipa, marble in the lobby and murals along the corridors, and the whole floor plan runs toward this one hall: bathe first, eat, then take a seat, and only then go through to a room. What the hall looks like and how it is watched is set out on the showcase hall page.
Almost everywhere else, choosing is done standing up
That is the real difference, and it is worth naming plainly. In most places the choosing happens in a corridor. It is narrow, there are people behind you, and an answer is expected within seconds. Decisions come out fast, not because anyone is thinking fast, but because nobody standing likes to hold up the line.
Manhao stages the same moment at theatre scale instead. Guests are seated and hosted, watch a complete round, and choose without any pressure. Sitting sounds like a difference of posture; what it actually changes is the order of events. You watch the whole thing first. Then you think. Then you speak.
Our guest put it well afterwards. He had always assumed he disliked this part of a Macau sauna evening. Sitting down, he worked out that what he disliked was standing.
The hall does not run down your clock
This is the part worth knowing before you arrive. The 60 or 90 minutes printed against a treatment begin when the therapist starts. Reception, the locker room, the bath hall and the time you spend seated in the showcase hall are all outside it. Watching a full round costs you nothing on the bill.
Opening hours are 14:00 to 06:00. Therapist hours are also 14:00 to 06:00. The two windows coincide exactly here, which is unusual in Macau: while the doors are open, the hall has something running, so a late arrival misses nothing.
After the round: the rooms
Once you have chosen, the room follows. Manhao plans the bed and the water bed as one continuous space rather than dropping a water bed into a standard room. The signature is the red water-bed suite under its spotlight, which changes the colour of the whole room the moment the light comes down. Each suite has its own bathroom, so you can shower before and after the treatment without moving rooms; photographs are on the rooms page.
Dining is inside the treatment price: steak, seafood, soups, fried rice, fried noodles, noodle soups, pork, lamb and sandwiches, with drinks to help yourself. Eat a little, soak a little, then take your seat for a round. That order is the one that makes the evening flow, and the fuller first-visit sequence is on the booking guide.
Rates, as published in September 2026
The published groupings start with the gate ticket: Pure Sauna & SPA at MOP 1,199. Manhao sets no minimum spend, so that ticket is a charge in its own right rather than a floor on what you spend. Four massage groups follow, and the Shanghai-style is the only 90-minute treatment among them; the other three run 60 minutes. Service charge of 5% and tourism tax of 5% are added on top. Manhao does not fold them into the listed price, so it is worth having them in mind from the start.
| Group | Length | Rate (MOP) |
|---|---|---|
| Gate ticket, Pure Sauna & SPA | — | 1,199 |
| Entry, Shanghai-style | 90 min | 2,188 |
| Popular, Southeast Asian series | 60 to 90 min | 3,288 – 4,388 |
| Health and Euro-American series | 60 min | 4,388 – 5,788 |
| Japanese / Korean flagship | 60 min | 6,188 |
Those are the September 2026 groupings; the itemised list sits on the rates page.
Booking through this site adds three things: a free private car both ways, two complimentary add-on services of your choice, and a free consultation. The add-ons are picked on the spot, so there is nothing to settle in advance. Rates and groupings follow the board Manhao publishes on the day, with the current menu confirmed when you book.
What guests ask us about the hall
How does the showcase hall work?
Manhao has the largest selection showcase hall in Macau, a multi-level glass-railed catwalk under stage lighting. Guests are seated and hosted, watch a complete round, and choose without any pressure.
Does time in the hall count toward my treatment?
No. The 60 or 90 minutes start when the therapist begins. Reception, the locker room and the bath hall sit outside it.
When should I arrive?
Doors open at 14:00 and the venue runs to 06:00; therapist hours are also 14:00 to 06:00. Shower and eat first, then take a seat for a round, and the evening has room in it.
What is added to the listed price?
A 5% service charge and a 5% tourism tax. Booked through this site, you also have the free private car, two complimentary add-ons and the consultation; message us with the date, the number of guests and your arrival time.
He chose the red water-bed suite in the end, and still the line he sent the next day was about the hall: it turns out this part of the night is something you are allowed to sit down for. Send us the date, how many of you there are and roughly when you will arrive, and we will take care of the car and the timing.
