Early Flight? Manhao Runs to 06:00
Published
Last week a guest laid out his itinerary: one night in Macau, hotel checkout at midnight, an 8 a.m. flight home to Singapore. His message asked the question we hear every month — “so do I just sit on an airport bench for five hours?”
Our answer was to point the car at Taipa. Manhao Spa opens at 14:00 daily and trades until 06:00 in the morning — one of the latest closes in Macau — and it happens to sit in Taipa, minutes from the airport and the Taipa Ferry Terminal (the Taipa doorstep piece covers the geography). Put the closing time and the location together and the “last stop before departure” isn’t something squeezed into an itinerary — it is simply the correct move. Here is that move, opened up.
Arrival times by departure
Allowing roughly three hours for a bath, a treatment and a rest (transfer times from Taipa; traffic may vary):
| Departure | Suggested latest arrival | The connection |
|---|---|---|
| 07:00 first ferry (Taipa terminal) | around 01:00 | Freshen up before close; minutes to the terminal |
| 08:00 flight | around 02:00 | 06:00 close, straight to the airport |
| 09:00–10:00 flight | around 03:00 | The roomiest schedule — full programme fits |
Small-hours arrivals are received as normal, but treatments take time — our 8 a.m. guest walked in at exactly 02:00, and the fit was perfect. Give your flight or ferry when booking so the pacing is planned for you, and the car will be ready before closing.
How the timing flows
Take an 8 a.m. flight with a 02:00 arrival — the three-plus hours run roughly so:
- 02:00 check-in — luggage with reception, change, and soak in the marble bath hall (about half an hour)
- 02:45 the massage — 60–90 minutes by tier; pick a 60-minute style if time is tight
- 04:30 the starlit lounge — Manhao’s signature rest space, styled after a night sky with marble daybeds; the dining room serves through trading hours, so a hot noodle soup before the road is easily done (day’s offerings apply)
- 05:45 freshen up and settle — 06:00 close, the car already at the door, straight to the airport or terminal
As of September 2026, the free transfer with a site booking covers all of Macau, dawn hours included.
One thing to note: Manhao currently offers no overnight stay — the 06:00 close is a hard close, staff and guests leaving together. So the correct use of this move is a finale, not a bed: it absorbs the orphaned hours between checkout and boarding, rather than replacing a hotel night. First visit? The first-visit walkthrough covers the flow.
Why it suits the end of a trip
- Late close — 06:00 means even a 2 a.m. arrival gets a full session
- Geography — Taipa base, minutes to airport and ferry; location & access has the map
- The starlit lounge — room to rest after treatments, unhurried to the last
- Luggage handled — leave it with reception, collect and go; arriving with bags after hotel checkout is no problem
- Full room menu to the end — rooms serve until close: the signature red waterbed suites under their spotlights, the integrated bed-plus-waterbed suites, and the private massage rooms all book in the small hours; photography on the rooms page
Budgeting the late session: menu and a worked bill
Manhao’s massage menu runs four series, with the gate ticket on its own line (as of September 2026; itemised detail on request at booking):
| Series | Price (MOP) |
|---|---|
| Pure Sauna & SPA gate ticket | 1,199 |
| Shanghai-style | 2,188 |
| Southeast Asian series | 3,288 – 4,388 |
| Health and Euro-American series | 4,388 – 5,788 |
| Japanese / Korean flagship | 6,188 |
The bill adds a 5% service charge plus 5% tourism tax. Worked example: a Shanghai-style session before departure lands at roughly MOP 2,407 all-in; Southeast Asian from about MOP 3,617. Budget the ten percent from the start and the dawn checkout holds no surprises. Full prices on the pricing page.

Frequently asked
Is 3 or 4 a.m. too late? No — reception runs to closing; allow at least two hours and give your departure time when booking.
Can I sleep through to 06:00? The starlit lounge is open through trading hours, but there is no overnight stay — the house clears at close.
Should I flag the airport run in advance? Yes — flight and time at booking, and the car is ready before closing; from Taipa both the airport and the terminal are minutes away.
Can I store luggage? Yes — reception holds it until you leave; coming straight from hotel checkout with bags is fine.
Our Singapore guest sent one line before boarding: “turns out the most comfortable part of leaving Macau is after checkout.” Don’t spend the trip’s last hours in a lobby. Room photography is on the rooms page; time and room can be set in one go at the booking page. All schedules and charges follow what Manhao publishes on the day, verified with you item by item at booking.
